Board of Directors

Jeni Tryon
Jeni Tryon has been providing quality financial counsel for nearly a decade. After graduating from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) she began her investment career with Salomon Smith Barney.

Throughout her career, she has expertly managed complex trust and high profile divorce settlements; managed large portfolios for high net worth clients, and provided guidance and direction for clients in transition.

Jeni is widely recognized as an industry leader, who has been quoted in Bloomberg Markets and sought out by industry insiders for her views on the wealth management profession. Her impeccable credentials include General Securities Representative, Uniform Securities Agent, Registered Investment Advisor and General Securities Principal.

Jeni is Past President of Orange County Executive Women International, a non-profit organization that brings together executive women and actively plans charity events that benefit children and families. Her work has included planning hospital visits, working wardrobes donations and organizing a reading rally for over 200 kids in Santa Ana..

Since 2006, Jeni has also been a member of the board of governors of Opportunity International, a non-profit that lends money to poor entrepreneurs in 3rd world countries. Opportunity International also provides financial services and training in basic business practices to the poor.

A trip to Uganda this March, had a profound impact on Jeni. Traveling through some of the poorest parts of Africa, and seeing children in need of food and clothing both overwhelmed and inspired her. Jeni responded to the need by starting her own non-profit organization, Opportunities for Orphans, with a mission to serve the educational needs of children worldwide that have lost one or both parents. Seeing children of multiple ages learning in one small classroom, Jeni determined to provide these children with the opportunity to develop other skills. One of Opportunities for Orphans projects is to build computer labs in African schools to bridge the gap in knowledge and information flow.

In her spare time, Jeni indulges her life long passion for the arts. She is a classically trained ballet dancer, and has performed in Salsa and other Latin dances throughout Southern California.

Mary August
Mary was a flight attendant with United Airlines for 34 years. During that time, she was very involved with several charitable organizations that United gave a great deal of time as well as money to. She worked the Muscular Dystrophy telethon in Las Vegas. She has also worked as a professional clown along with our volunteer flight attendants, pilots, and many other employees on their Fantasy Flight. On those flights, they took approximately 200 disabled, mentally as well physically challenged children on flights to the North Pole to see Santa.

They also took abused children who were living in group homes through out the Los Angeles area. After landing back in Los Angeles, (after circling the Catalina Island for a couple of hours), they would take the children to a secluded and decorated area for presents, fun and to see Santa. Mary participated in this for 8 years in a row for which she felt very blessed to be a part of. After retiring from United she "clowned" for a variety of benefits for children. She was involved with the The Concern Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization which put on luncheons for children with cancer and their siblings, City of Hope, and clowned in Belfast Northern Ireland, while working for Habitat as a volunteer.

She was a board member for Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital for their Guild which was responsible for raising money for the hospital. She also was a member of the Clipped Wings which is a group of retired as well as some active flight attendants from United Airlines. It is a national organization and in each city we become affiliated with a charity of our choice to help in fund raisers. The organization in Las Vegas used to work with the National Down Syndrome group.

She enjoys her life to the fullest and is always eager to learn and to experience new adventures. She is also currently setting up a bone marrow drive for young adult women.

Her volunteerism started when she was 11 years old in Sioux City, Iowa. Her city flooded and she helped give out water, blankets and food for 14 days straight. She was hooked. The Red Cross actually sent her to a Red Cross camp because of my willingness and desire to help and the rest is history.
